Holy Trinity Paarl

On the main road of Paarl is a beautiful Anglican church – Holy Trinity Paarl. With a centre ailse and a raised alter table, chandelier lighting and a wooden arched ceiling – this church is perfect for you if you dreaming of a traditional wedding ceremony.

Great photos thanks, but I am really confused what does the Holy Trinity church look like from the outside, do you have any photos you could email or publish please? I keep searching online and all I get are results for the old reformed Dutch Tower Church (Toringkerk), which some sites actually list as being the Holy Trinity Anglican Church.

    Hi Ian,
I will work on publishing some photos of the outside of the church during this week. I googled forever to try and find pics when I was looking for a church but also only came up with the Toringkerk – hence wanting to start this blog. Will definately get some pics up soon. Although, its not the best from the outside, and directly on the main road with very little parking – the inside won me over!

Thanks Hawkette for the photos, it’s excatly what I needed to see!

Is it just a case of contacting the vicar in Paarl? Although I have no family ties to Paalr, is this a requirement in SA?

Please send me information on the cost of getting married in your church. It beautifull – How many people can the church seat comfortably?
    Regards Marizanne

apparently it can seat 150 comfortably, but they don’t sound keen to let non-anglicans use it.

    Hi choc_coffee,
A lot of venues and churches it seems would inflate the numbers they can seat ‘comfortably’. Its always best to ask someone who has been to the venue what their honest opinion of what comfortable is.
Besides this, many Anglican churches to have reservations about non-Anglicans marrying in their church, similar to a Catholic church. I know that Holy Trinity Paarl does have an arrangement that allows Methodists to be married there with a Methodist minister. I hope that helps. Alternatively – I’ll be posting another church in Paarl that may be suitable for you shortly!

Juat a word to contributers regarding this church My father was vicar of Holy Trinity for three years or so up to 1952
when we returned to England I was then 14 You can contact thr vicar through the local Anglican diocese website which has telephone numbers and email addresses. Incidentally we were there during the strict apartheid era. Nevertheless we had a mixed congregation with blacks and whites sharing the same building. Strictly illegal. Don’t know how we got away with it!
